Cover rap AI: create a strong visual without overloading the cover

A rap cover can be frontal, narrative or symbolic. Its strength comes from the adequacy between the character, the title and the musical universe, more than from the number of spectacular elements brought together in the square.

Choose a main sign

A portrait, an unexpected object or a situation can carry the cover. Decide what the listener should remember after one look. If several elements tell different stories, simplify the frame to give more space to the sign most linked to the piece.

Using typography as composition

The title can frame the subject, occupy a background or become a graphic form. Check that it remains legible and that its letters are not lost behind important details. Very large text is not automatically stronger if the contrast or spacing makes it difficult to read.

Decline without losing identity

A release campaign can use the color, subject or portrait of the cover in other media. Keep a working file with a safe area around the subject to prepare for these adaptations. The square format of the cover and the vertical communication formats require different compositions.

AN EXAMPLE TO MOVE FORWARD

Putting this idea into practice

Compose two models around the same idea: a version with a dominant portrait and a more symbolic version. Compare their reading in thumbnails before adding details. The covers studio helps test the placement of the title and artist.

Before choosing your images

  • A memorable sign.
  • A verified title in small size.
  • A reusable palette for communication.
